you’re a pleasure

When was the last time you bought lemonade from a lemonade stand?

At the beach while helping a customer rent a sailboat, I was told that I am a pleasure. The way I see it, pleasure, or the enjoyment of something for no reason other than joy, can be passed from person to person. Like a wave, the pleasure that I brought to that customer-- not for my own agenda, just naturally-- will perpetuate his own pleasure, and that in turn will bring pleasure to those he interacts with. With my irrepressible smile, I saw that I successfully transferred happiness, enjoyment, from my very being onto others.

That's why buying lemonade from a lemonade stand is so important.

Ever since my trip to Electric Forest I’ve been having these little moments of internal laughter when someone is clearly trying to do something as smoothly as possible— mundane things, like getting their wallet out or trying to push a door open with their hand before their face or simply speaking—but nervously fumbles, or stutters, in such a way that reveals to you their chaotic inner experience. It reminds you that they, too, are imperfect, and likely have no complete idea of what they’re doing, and that mastery is a matter of poise.

You guys are great.
